Song meanings and finding their true value

For me song meanings were always what I was searching for. Artists and musicians are trying to convey a message that many times is lost behind a catchy beat or tune. For the musicians who are writing their own lyrics, it can make a listener wonder. Were the words brought on by personal experience? Which can further enable an emotional connecion to the music by connecting it to your own personal experience. Song meanings can be hidden and lost through various means. For me I like to listen to a song, read the lyrics, and then re listen over and over to understand how the artist or write truly felt as he was writing it. Through these means I search for the real song meaning and feel a strong connection to the music than I have ever known.
